Mike Henry covers an impressive range of acts flawlessly with style and charisma. His attention to character detail and amazing vocal melodies bring audiences to their feet at every performance.

Mike Henry was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. He developed his strong, soulful voice performing with the vocal group the Gospel Ambassadors. He moved to Las Vegas in the 80’s and performed in hotel clubs and toured to Atlantic City, Reno and Lake Tahoe. Then he moved to San Fransisco’s bay area and worked in R&B and Funk clubs.

Lucky for us, Mike moved to Vancouver to join the band Stripes in 1989 and toured Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. His prodigious yet relaxed presence and his phenomenal voice has him jet-setting to Asia, Europe and the Middle East. And as of late, Mexico too! A truly dynamic performer, who astoundingly also does a remarkable Mostly Marley project. With obvious influences of Sam Cook, Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, one can hardly hear the difference, and yet be equally charmed that they live in the heart and soul of this man. Come and hear it to believe it, we are lucky to be able to present Mike Henry on the Red Truck Stop LIVE stage.

Ps/ We asked him what he does to warm up, he said with a smile, the 1st set is my warm up:) He works out everyday because staying fit creates the energy he wants for his performances, and he loves to start with a good breakfast. Being health conscious and his love for cooking doesn’t stop this happy city dweller to take advantage of a variety of Vancouver’s finest cuisines. He’s fan of fresh air, whether hiking, skiing, or swimming, and a devotee of The Chiefs and The Raptors. Perhaps above all, he loves to laugh and gets his buddies together to take in Comedy shows. Henry is a soul man with a whole lot to give, and voice that gives you a window to all the greats.
