Bassist and singer Billy Mendoza https://www.facebook.com/billy.mendoza.336 has teamed up with singer/songwriter Dave Mercer to create a rather compelling blend of songs. The combination of Billy’s sublime fretless bass with the stylings of Dave’s nylon string guitar (also called a Spanish guitar) make for some sweet & funky musical arrangements.   Mendoza, originally from Hawaii, can sound effortlessly like Bono & Sting. He’s contributed to a long list of musical projects, and currently is the lead vocalist for the Steely Dan group ‘Steelin’ in the years’, and the bassist for the ‘R&B all stars’. Live is where it’s at for Mendoza, and it’s as inspiring to hear him perform as it is to see him sweat and hear him laugh.

Mercer, on the other hand, has kept a fairly low profile hiring out his talents as a guitarist for various local bands, while he passionately spends most of his time sweating the recordings of his own songs. Being the son of a preacher man, Mercer grew up everywhere & is now also a semi-retired contractor in the central vac business. With intake and uptake as part of his life’s repertoire, he’s figured out how to pull his own power and jump on into music almost full time now.
