Meet a dynamic musical collaboration, the Lite Stripes: Vicky Sjohall (Guitar, Vocals) & Amanda Hamilton (Cajon/Drums). Vicky is a lion-hearted performer with a Swedish background. She is influenced by a lifelong exposure to music in her home where records were on constant rotation. Meanwhile her favourites started with Abba & The Beatles, and now the likes of Ariana Grande & Alanis Morrisette. Vicky’s musical journey began with singing harmonies for various performers, eventually leading her to write her own music. This path included forming the girl band “4Play,” which evolved into the acclaimed indie pop band Cherrrybomb (who toured extensively in Canada for seven years!). Now between solo performances, she embarks on collaborative projects, like this special one, LITE STRIPES. She records her music at her home studio with engineer Rohan Henson, while her two gigantic west-end black cat siblings, Audio & Aria, balance the hundreds of gigs she tackles.
Amanda crossed serendipitous paths with Vicky, just after the breakup of her previous band. And bam, it was instant musical chemistry. Not just music, these two have a mutual love for the outdoors, horses, fine wine, and share musical tastes. Amanda’s rhythmic expertise injects a dynamic & diverse layer into the Lite Stripes’ sound, and together you can hear the joy of music in all they present; which spans from classic 70’s hits to current pop tunes to their own juicy numbers. Excitement is in the air as these ladies rehearse in Amanda’s Tsawwassen garage with Andrew Neufield on bass, to prepare for new recordings this year. Where can you find Vicky 🎶 and Lite Stripes show announcements? Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube.
