Arbutus Holiday
Arbutus Holiday has been described as the Queen and King of farmers’ markets where they got their start in 2022. By 2024, they had played dozens of markets all over BC warming the hearts of toddlers and their parents while surprising seniors with old gems they’d been fondly missing. They are an acoustic duo from wacky Texada Island who play a diverse mix of sincere and personal rock/indie/folk/country originals and classic covers. They have also been playing at a variety of venues across BC and Alberta and are looking to expand their reach into other provinces in 2025.
Arbutus Holiday consists of former Vancouver residents Donna Hansen on vocals/guitar and Evan Symons on vocals/lead guitar. Having recently got the music bug, Donna dove headlong into a swirling multi-faceted musical crash course that has seen her transform almost overnight from shaking uncontrollably at open mics to gigging constantly all over the place. Evan has been involved in the Vancouver music scene for decades, worked with Nardwuar on Thunderbird Radio Hell in the 1990’s, has toured extensively across Canada and the US west coast, and has numerous solo albums on his own label.
